FIFA U17 Women's World Cup: Know your Young Tigresses, Squad, Fixtures, All You Need to Know: Starting on the 11th of October, hosts India will take part in their first FIFA World Cup campaign as they host 15 other teams in Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, and Goa.
In the six U-17 Women’s World Cups that have been played so far (2008-2018), five teams have lifted the trophy including Spain, France, and Japan. The remaining two former champions, Korea DPR and Korea Republic, winners in 2010, will be absent from the 2022 edition.
FIFA U17 Women's World Cup Groups
The Young Tigresses make their debut on the first day of the World Cup against the top-ranked U.S.A. While India avoided facing the former winners Spain, they will still need to finish in top 2 of Group A to advance to the knockout stages.
However, it is noteworthy that no host nation has ever advanced past the group stage without losing.
It is not only about results, but also good performance, says Coach Dennerby
