AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifiers LIVE: The Indian Women's Football Team, coached by Thomas Dennerby, is currently in Bishkek practicing for their AFC Women's Olympic Qualifiers Round 1 match against Kyrgyz Republic Women's Football team.

The Blue Tigresses will play two legs against their opponents on April 4 and April 7, 2023. Despite naming a 23-member squad, the team is missing some key players due to injuries. Aditi Chauhan, Bala Devi, Manisha Kalyan, and Soumya Guguloth are all unavailable for the upcoming match.

AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifiers: Indian Women’s Football Prepare for Olympic Qualifiers, face Kyrgyz Republic for next round

The draw for the Asian qualifying matches for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris was held on January 12, 2023.

The Indian women's football team was drawn in Group G and will begin their Olympic qualifying campaign against Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The competition is scheduled to commence in April 2023, with Round 2 expected to follow later in the year. Turkmenistan has since withdrawn from the tournament, leaving only India and hosts Kyrgyz Republic in Group G.

Goalkeepers: Sowmiya Narayansamy, Shreya Hooda and Elangbam Panthoi

Defenders: Ashalata Devi, Sweety Devi, Ritu Rani, Ranjana Chanu, Michel Castanha, Dalima Chhibber, Manisa Panna and Juli Kishan

Midfielders: Shilky Devi Hemam, Anju Tamang, Indumathi Kathiresan, Sangita Basfore and Karthika Angamuthu

Forwards: Grace Dangmei, Soumya Guguloth, Renu, Karishma Shirvoikar, Sandhiya Ranganathan and Apurna Narzary

With three teams in Group G, only one qualification position is up for grabs, and the winner will progress to the next round of Olympic qualifying for Paris 2024. In the past, two Asian countries have made it to the medal rounds, where teams from around the world compete for medals.
